Eight months after I was born in Bologna, Italy my family moved across the world to a city on the east coast of South Africa. This is where I grew up and was lucky to experience and be part of a more multi-cultural way of life than most European children. When I finished high school, I moved across the country to the west coast to study at the University of Cape Town. Here I discovered my passion for learning, particularly about the human mind and behavior.
Four years of studying later I began working as a counsellor for children and adolescents. These experiences were incredibly special to me and made me realize that I wanted to strengthen my knowledge and skills. So in September 2019 I moved once again to the Netherlands to begin a Master’s programme in Clinical Psychology. One year and one Master’s diploma later, I am prepared and motivated to contribute my skills and experience to the expat population here in the Netherlands.
Italian | English speaking psychologist |
I am a native Italian and English speaker and I use cognitive behavioral therapy in my sessions. I am also influenced by other styles of therapy, but above all I am guided by the needs of my client. What is most important for me is to empower my clients so that they feel resilient when life is hard, and I hope to achieve this by creating an accepting, safe space where these emotions can be explored.
I will offer you a warm and caring place to build skills and enhance your personal growth. Therapy is a guided process of self-discovery. Whether it begins in response to a traumatic event or at a time when positive change is sought, old patterns of behavior and thinking can stand in the way of healthy communication and feelings. Therapy provides access to strengthen skills so that new and healthier thoughts, feelings and behaviors take the place of old unhealthy ones.
